VerifiedPermafrost Co-op Guide
Steam describes solo play or co-op with up to three friends. The key promise is not that co-op makes the world easier, but that players can build shelter networks, divide responsibilities, and use different strengths.

Player count and official loop
The current listing supports a total of up to four players and labels the game as multi-player and online co-op. It also frames co-op as a shared survival problem rather than a separate mode with different rules.
- Solo: one player handles exploration, shelter, repairs, and supplies.
- Co-op: up to three friends can share the same survival planning.
- Shelter networks: the official description gives them a central role.
- Responsibilities: divide tasks only after the playable build confirms what can be shared.
Co-op test plan
At launch, compare solo and four-player observations for travel time, shelter use, resource availability, repair progress, and dog companion behavior. Keep these as versioned tests because Early Access balancing can change.
Not yet verified
No claim is made about cross-play, dedicated servers, revive rules, shared inventory, or co-op difficulty scaling until official or in-game evidence exists.
