Permafrost Warmth and Frostbite Guide

The Steam page calls the cold the true enemy and names frostbite, storms, preparation, shelter, and timing as survival pressures. This page turns those confirmed pressures into a test plan.

The cold is an active system

Permafrost is not described as a generic crafting game with a winter backdrop. Steam says the cold is alive and ever-present, and that frostbite, storms, preparation, shelter, and timing shape every journey.

  • Record exposure before and after shelter entry.
  • Separate normal cold from storm conditions.
  • Track whether repairs, clothing, food, or shelter change the outcome.
  • Log the time needed to travel between safe points.

Avoid unsupported warmth numbers

The current Steam listing does not show a temperature scale, frostbite threshold, clothing table, or storm timer. Those values belong in a versioned hands-on sheet after release.

Not yet verified

There is no invented “best warmth level,” temperature number, or frostbite cure on this page.
